One of the most famous photographs taken by a human, not by random fortune.It’s more than just a photograph; it’s a symbol of our fragility - an inhabited rock floating through a vacuum of emptiness. It shows our insignificance as a species and how nothing really matters when you think about it.Well, at least that's one way of looking at it.The way we look at it? Yes, it shows our fragility and insignificance, but it also shows how special and important our kind and our planet may be. Surrounded by distant darkness and for the most part, absolutely nothing is what makes us so special. How rare is it that a species makes it this far or even crops up in the first place? We don’t know. But what we do know is that we should absolutely protect what we have at all costs. Here are the efforts WE put towards Sustainability…
Our WOOD SUPPLY
Ash is our primary wood source, but not just any Ash!
Our Ash is cut down here in Devon, processed and chopped by hand. It is then stored away and let to be air dried for 3 years before use - This is THE most sustainable way to go from tree to burnable wood. The most common technique for drying wood is via a kiln, however this process uses an abundance of energy in exchange for the convenience of quickly dried wood. we believe that this is not necessary and a bit of pre organising can save the environment some harm.
We PLANT TREES
With every session, we fund the planting of a tree through our reforestation partner.
As we are taking wood from nature to bring you joy in the lovely Sauna, we think that we should also give back and have a healthy relationship with the planet.
